Altimira Middle School Tutoring Resources

Children who struggle in school benefit from tutoring, which helps them gain confidence and skills if they’ve fallen behind. Even if your children are excelling in school, tutoring can still be of great benefit, boosting their confidence and preparing them for the next level.

Tutoring services may be available through the school, but parents are encouraged to take on an active role by home tutoring their children. Using WebSchoolPro’s large collection of tutoring resources, parents can help their children make the most of their learning experience.

Mentor Program

The Stand By Me Mentoring Program is located on all eight Sonoma Valley Unified School District campuses. Students are referred by teachers, counselors, or parents and then matched one-on-one with caring adult role models from the local community. The presence of a committed, caring adult in the life of a child is one of the most important factors in determining a child's success. Mentors meet with their mentee one hour once a week at the school site mentor center and provide academic and social support to help these children reach their highest potential. Parental permission is required, and matches are made based on the needs of each individual student mentee. If you are interested in mentoring a child at Altimira, call Gina Weller at 935-9079; or, go to www.sonomamentoring.org for more information.
