Accelerated Programs
Altimira's accelerated programs deliver coursework in greater depth with increased rigor at a rapid pace for qualified students. Students who show the potential to perform at academically advanced levels are nurtured, engaged and motivated in this stimulating environment to ensure they are focused and excel. Our teachers set high expectations and then challenge and encourage advanced students to stretch grow and develop their particular strengths.
Courses are offered in Accelerated Algebra, Advanced Geometry, Advanced Science and Advanced English Language Arts. Additional options for accelerated learning are available through Elective and Specific Academic Enhancement (SAE) classes such as GATE (Gifted and Talented Education), Lego Robotics, Creative Thinking, Astronomy, Bird Watching, Entymology and more. Yearly subject choices vary, yet all emphasize higher order thinking, decision-making, creative problem solving and independent critical thinking.
